HPU kicks off 2008 Movie on the Mall series
Supersize Me" is the first film for Hawai'i Pacific University's 2008 "Movie on the Mall" outdoor film series. The free movie will screen at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday on upper Fort Street Mall, 1188 Fort Street Mall. At 5 p.m., local radio station HOT 93.9 will play music and and Govindaji's on Fort Street Mall will provide vegetarian and vegan food for the event, sponsored by HPU's newly formed Vegetarian Club. Extra! UIdaho Student Found Shot to Death
A 21-year-old University of Idaho senior was found shot to death early today in his Moscow apartment. David Robert Boss, a history major and Boise native, was found dead by a roommate about 2 a.m., Moscow police officials said. Boss roommate apparently arrived at the apartment at 1218 S. Main St. about 2 a.m. and found the victim on the floor in the kitchen area of the apartment, according to a press release. The roommate called police. The death is being investigated as suspicious, said Moscow Police Department Assistant Chief David Duke. The apparent cause of death is a single gunshot wound to the head. No gun was found in the apartment, Duke said. .

The National Steeplechase Association has chosen longtime racing executive Lou Raffetto to fill a newly created position of chief executive officer. Most recently the president and chief operating officer of the Maryland Jockey Club, Raffetto will manage company operations and direct plans for the future. Raffetto joins a staff of four at the NSA's headquarters in Fair Hill, Md., and starts the new position March 17. "We were lucky to have someone of his caliber available when we came to the conclusion that we wanted someone to run the company," said NSA president Franny Abbott. "I love his enthusiasm. I love his history in flat racing. He's got the people skills to be helpful with our race chairmen and horsemen, and he will be able to help in our goal to become a bigger part of the Thoroughbred industry." Raffetto left the Maryland Jockey Club and owner Magna Entertainment in November.
