Scott gives thanks to Brass

PAUL Scott has said former caretaker boss Chris Brass will be sadly missed in the dressing room.

"Brassy was a great influence on me when he was here as a player, as he was for a lot of the lads over the last couple of seasons," he said.

Pumpkin's dad arrested in US

His acquaintances tipped off local authorities after seeing news reports about Xue.

"He was arrested in Atlanta,'' Tom Hession, head of the Los Angeles US Marshals, said.

"The arrest was based on the news reports and the internet and America's Most Wanted,'' Hession said.

"He was either associated with, or staying with some folks, who realised he was wanted and they called authorities.''

The website for the America's Most Wanted television program says Xue was caught after Chinese-American locals recognised him.

"According to police, Xue was at an apartment complex when a number of residents noticed him and a fight broke out," the website says.

Xue 'hogtied'

"Local authorities got wind of the incident and arrived on the scene only to find the suspected murderer hogtied and detained by a number of men."

Hession said authorities hoped to be able to deport Xue back to New Zealand soon.

Primi Piatti is bringing a taste of Northern Italy to the Riverside-Avondale area.

Northern Italian food, for the curious minds, uses a lot less tomato in its recipes, instead giving preference to cheese and butter sauces.

Inside Mac OS X 10.5.2

Apple released Mac OS X 10.5.2 nearly two weeks ago, and it's not your typical point-upgrade to the Mac OS. There are plenty of new features and refinements in this update, so in this Macworld Video, I'll highlight some of the more interesting ones.

Specifically, I'll look at changes to the interface of Leopard's Time Machine back-up feature, OS X 10.5.2's ability to remove the translucent menu bar and its reduced menu translucency, and the changes made to the Stacks feature.

A weekend of voting - and shopping

You do not query the inequity of disenfranchising the hundreds of thousands of her supporters. A previous BBC article opined that if, by the time the convention is held, neither of the candidates has a clear majority, these delegates might well resolve any potential problem. This weekend's results were hardly unexpected and are not necessarily indicative of future voting patterns. If you saw "Sixty Minutes" on CBS, you will know that Mr Obama smiled a lot but said very little about what he would do as president, whereas Mrs Clinton was far more specific; there's none so blind as those who will not see! With regard to the Frank Rich column, a pity you did not link to Tad Devine's article in the same publication (http://www.nytimes.com/2008/02/10/opinion/10devine.html) in which he supports the notion of using super delegates, saying "Democratic leaders need to let the voters sort out which one of these two remarkable people will lead our party .
