| UK broadcasters pitch again for HD spectrum
Executives from ITV, the BBC, Channel 4 and Five have met Broadcasting Minister Margaret Hodge in a last minute plea for guaranteed spectrum to supply free high-definition television. They fear mobile phone companies will outbid them, leaving Sky and cable as the only available routes for those customers wanting HD. Their "HD For All" pressure group wants a third of the capacity between 470MHz and 862MHz set aside for HD broadcasts on Freeview. The group, which also includes manufacturers and retailers like DSG International, says that would be enough to support five new HD channels. HD For All stepped up its lobbying campaign ahead of a critical deadline next week. Responses must be in then to Ofcom's proposals on the broadcast spectrum that comes free between 2008 and 2012 as terrestrial television converts to digital.

Pritchett broke the news and discussed efforts to meet anticipated counseling needs in a brief meeting with teachers and staff before the start of school. Teachers shared the news of the wreck with students at the start of first period. Social studies teacher and head basketball coach Jeff Cody taught with Findley and described her as a professional who was dedicated to CHS and the students she served."She was a true servant, and that's what made her special," Cody said. "She will be missed."Students also were also shaken by Findley's death. "I think there's a lot of shock," said Student Council President Will Snider. "Nobody expects something like this. She gave us so much support. She was always nice. I never heard a bad word spoken about her among the student body, which is pleasing, considering her role as an assistant principal, which is a tough position."She was always funny and extremely nice to every one of us.

From the Editor :
He was eyeing off one of the chicks and asked me whether he should give her his number or email. I suggested email (being overseas and all) so I wonder how lucky he got or whether he actually gave a crap what I thought. And ....good old Shoaib, got to hand it to him, he knows how to pick up the ladies. He was back and forth, chatting up different babes and I must admit, the ladies seemed to be giggling like school girls when he left (probably to chat up a dozen more). .
Storm worm continues its rampage
The body of the message contains a text link leading to a web page advertising an online 'greeting card' supposedly sent to the user. On clicking either the image or the link, the user downloads an executable file that installs the Storm malware. Infected machines are then connected to a customised peer-to-peer network which is used to control the botnet and install new versions of the worm. This malware connects the user to Storm's huge botnet, which has been linked to spam runs and phishing attacks, and is said to be among the greatest threats on the internet. As Storm's run nears 14 months, security companies are stepping up their efforts to slow the worm. ThreatStop has made its normally private list of blocked Storm domains available to the general public, allowing users to copy the list and use it with firewall software to block traffic from known Storm distributors.
Wisconsin Sports Spectacular
It showed a LOT of disrespect for the officials when he KNEW that they had to make the last snap. Undoubtedly he's been on the other side of that situation before. I can maybe understand in the moment he forgot, and started to go out onto the field, but when he continued out there and shook Coughlin's hand, and then goes into the locker room when his team had to stay out there and see the last snap and the Giants celebration, that was wrong. It took something away from the last snap of the Super Bowl, which I always see as a classic moment when the winning team has the ball and is running out the clock. .
Camilla delights Winchester on royal tour
WINCHESTER welcomed a royal visitor today as Camilla Parker Bowles embarked on a tour of the city. She was greeted by dignitaries, including the Lord Lieutenant of Hampshire, Mary Fagan, and spent more than an hour touring the revamped library, which cost £7m. Camilla met youngsters from St Bede Primary School in the children's library and was all smiles as she joined in as Anne Marley, Hampshire County Council's children and schools services manager, told them stories. The Duchess then visited the City Space exhibition room and saw the huge textile piece put together for the centre by Winchester artist, Alice Kettle.
