| Bill O’Reilly Crashes the Party and Students Object
Oh, right, and they allowed the ads to be put up in addition to paying for them, and allowed all this to happen on their campus. Granted, what people do is really their business, but it seems a bit off that the school is encouraging this nonsense. Kevin, Undergraduate, at 10:51 am EST on November 18, 2005 .
kf Feels Brad Grey's Pain!
He's so entitled to take this shot: MSNBC's Tucker Carlson, on Dan Abram's reappearance as an anchor (after being promoted to general manager of the network): Over at CNN Jon Klein runs the show. Do you think he could host an hour of television? How do you think that would rate? Not well. So in the end, we're proud of Dan." Meanwhile, Klein is still milking respectability points from his decision to end Crossfire, where Carlson once soldiered loyally before being gratuitously humiliated by Klein. Klein gets praised for his "candor." He then says ratings are not that important. "This is, first and foremost, a battle for journalistic excellence." ... P.S.: Marketwatch's fawning inerviewer, Jon Friedman, explains Klein's ratings non-triumph, after almost two years on the job: CNN most likely won't make any dramatic strides until the U.S.
Bible readers have many versions to choose from
The Life Application Bible tends to be the most popular, Trichel said, because of the personal notes that apply to everyday life."Someone told me this Bible was like comparing the Herald & Review newspaper to the Wall Street Journal; the local paper hits you where you are and what's going on in your life at the time," she said. The Family Foundations Study Bible is widely used and has a list of topics that apply to everyday family life, Trichel said. The owner of Berean Bookstore, David Byrne, is the contributing general editor of that Bible.Bibles are available for members of every branch of the military: Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines or Coast Guard. "These Bibles have special notes and devotions from military leaders," Trichel said.Young people can read the Beginners Bible. There's the 2:52 Boys Bible, designed for boys age 8 to 12, which refers to Luke 2:52: "And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.""It has fun gross facts in it about different things, and they love it," Trichel said flipping to a page that reads: "Jesus spat and put his spit on the deaf and mute man's tongue.
Band energizes crowd
Incommunicado recently played a Cherry Darling show in February with bands Jena Berlin and The Warmingtons. "We really like playing in State College, and college towns in general," Warmbrodt said. "If we could, we would play college towns more often, but we just don't have the connections." Playing with Incommunicado will be Lose The Name, a punk-rock quartet from Tyrone, Pa. "This is our first time playing with Incommunicado, and we are super happy about it," bass player Brad Davis said. This weekend's performance coincides with the release of Lose The Name's five-track EP, Fells Point, released through Take Over Digital. Lose The Name worked with producer Paul Leavitt who has worked with other acts like Senses Fail.
Domestic artworks favored by bidders
The industry expressed its recognition at this point and agreed that the success of classical Chinese paintings and calligraphy is attributed to years of accumulation in the classical Chinese painting and calligraphy market, improved knowledge levels of collectors and increasingly identified value of classical painting and calligraphy. In the classical Chinese painting and calligraphy session, the Red Cliff by Qiu Ying, a painter in the Ming Dynasty, set a world auction record. In addition, another auction artwork in the same session, Red Trees and Green Mountains, by Hua Yan was also auctioned at a high price of RMB 19.60 million. Gong Xian's Landscape, a 4-section screen, was auctioned at a price of RMB 4.928 yuan million. When Did Cam’ron Become The “Voice of Hip-Hop?”
Ben Chavis (Who should change from Dr. to Rev. with his preaching), Kevin Liles (Who cares about your rise from intern to President? Thats not the issue) and Common (Even he had his misses). Now, 60 Minutes did a profile on the Stop Snitching epidemic which has been custom in inner-city neighborhoods for decades, but has exploded in recent years with its commercialization thru song and clothing. Who did 60 Minutes look for to talk about Stop Snitching? None other than the Albert Einstein of Hip-Hop, Camron. Whatever happened to publicists? I guess Jim Jones is preparing Killa for interviews. If you thought theres a witch hunt against Hip-Hop, your probably right? But in defense of the so-called art and poets like Russ would say are a bunch of fools. The worst legal defense team you can have.

Kandahar governor denies torture claim
There will be little difference rotating out in two years and rotating out now. 1,000 additional troops won't be sufficient to win the day and there is no reason to continue in the Khandahar province without a greater commitment from NATO overall. Our current approach (with 1,000 extra troops) is a recipe for a stalemate at best and failure at worst. Sometimes it takes more courage to know when to quit than it does to continue. Without a much greater commitment by NATO, this is one of those times. Posted 02/02/08 at 1:07 AM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment .

However, that didn't prevent Edinburgh University Students' Union (EUSA) stopping Narconon Scotland putting up posters advertising its services. The rationale behind the move was that the union couldn't be sure Narconon was, in the words of EUSA's then vice-president Mark Calder, "independent". "We carried out research which showed it has strong links with Scientology," Calder said at the time. "We were also concerned that this link was not made explicit so a decision was made to take the posters down." The audio-visual presentation lasts for well over an hour. I have to say it drags a little, though I do enjoy the film about Venezualean Scientologists Audrey Cabrera and Ruddy Rodriguez. It seems it was only the personal intervention of these indomitable women that prevented the country falling into anarchy during and after the 2002 coup attempt against president Hugo Chavez.
