Meet the Press Moments! 1) Doris Kearns Goodwin, absolving Barack Obama on the question of his lifted uplift. ... Writes itself! ... 2) Goodwin, on politicans' sex scandals:

But I think the serious thing that happened is just this change in relationship between the candidates and the reporters has been such a sea change. In 1920, the reporters knew in detail that Warren Harding was having an affair for 15 years. They thought it wasn't their business to talk about the private life, compared to a front-page article that suspects an affair on the part of some aides. In fact, the Republican committee was so worried about this affair that they actually gave the woman $20,000 and sent her to the Orient during the entire campaign to get her out of the way. So we've changed the whole notion of what part of a private life matters.

Silverlight helps bring streaming video to Olympics Web site

How would you like to be handed this IT project: create a website that will present 2,200 hours of live, interactive video, plus integrated broadcast coverage. The site will have huge spikes of traffic, and operate under worldwide scrutiny, so it has to be designed for performance. It has to be done in the next 150 days; no schedule extensions are possible. And it must deliver a brilliant user experience.

That's the job in front of the developers for the Summer Olympics website, which also will offer expert commentary and sports biographies and permit users to share links to favorite event videos. During the MIX 08 keynote address on Wednesday, Perkins Miller, senior vice president of digital media for NBC Sports & Olympics, said that this was "the most ambitious online project."

During the Olympics, the site (demonstrated in prototype form during the keynote) will deliver video interactively for 17 days.

The Will Call: Your Ticket to the Game

Any year the Hokies can finish third in the ACC should be considered a success. Throw in the circumstances and the six freshmen that grace the court each game and the Hokie Nation has something to be excited about.

Another good side note for The Good--Clemson’s senior guard and second leading scorer Cliff Hammonds broke his wrist in their last game against Maryland. Hammonds says he plans to play against Georgia Tech with the broken wrist on Thursday. Now…the Will Call would never wish injury on anyone but let me just repeat that. Hammonds plans to play…ACC basketball…with a broken wrist on Thursday.

Does anybody else see where this could lead? Hammonds is really risking himself in the game Thursday which means half as much as the game Sunday against the Hokies.

Crackdown on 'upskirting' and 'downblousing'

ELEANOR HALL: A national crackdown on voyeuristic photos and their publication is one of the issues being tackled at the meeting in Melbourne today of Australia's Attorneys-General.

The nation's top law makers are considering how to deal with the problem of "upskirting" and "downblousing", in which mobile phone cameras and pen cameras are used to photograph unsuspecting women.

Outlawing the publication of photos, which don't have the subject's consent, is also being considered.

In Melbourne, Samantha Donovan reports.

SAMANTHA DONOVAN: Victorian Attorney-General Rob Hulls is urging the states and Commonwealth to come up with a national approach to these problems.

ROB HULLS: The practice of what's known as "up skirting", where people can use mobile phone cameras or pen cameras to take photos under people's clothing without their knowledge, and for inappropriate purposes.

Rebel's Slaying Another Boost for Uribe

The body of Ivan Rios, a top leader of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, FARC, lies inside a helicopter at a military base in Pereira, Colombia, Saturday, March 8, 2008. Rios was killed by his security chief who gave Colombian troops the leader's severed right hand as proof. Rios was the second top rebel killed in a week, a major setback for the FARC, the country's largest rebel force. (AP Photo/Fernando Vergara) (Fernando Vergara - AP) .

Pac-10 Notebook: Beavers face punishment

EXTRA CREDIT: While dumb and dumber best describes Oregon State's recent actions, no one is questioning the intelligence level of the Oregon basketball team, which has a current graduation rate way off the charts.

Three senior starters, forwards Malik Hairston and Maarty Leunen and guard Bryce Taylor, received their diplomas last summer -- a full year ahead of schedule. Reserves Mitch Platt and Ray Schaefer joined them as fifth-year seniors graduating on time. Add to that junior forward Churchill Odia, who will complete his college requirements at the end of the current winter quarter.

"No one else in the country has got that," coach Ernie Kent said, referring to the five college grads on the active roster. "We have great seniors. We have great parents. We told them when they came in this would help their NBA careers."

Kent wasn't giving them an idle sales pitch about receiving a fast-track education while maintaining pro basketball possibilities.

Football recruiting

I had the chance to watch Julio at the Under Armour All-American Game and he's pretty good, but after having seen them both play, A.J. is a better receiver," McKissick said. "I've been asked over the years, 'Who is the greatest football player you've ever had?' and I never answered because I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings.

"While we've had several great ones, now I don't mind saying A.J. is the best all-around athlete we've ever had."

It's a sure sign of spring when you see gangs of birds

Perhaps they were getting out of Daytona before spring break crowds hit and stopped by Jacksonville for the Monster Truck Jam. The Binmeister thinks they're heading to the Ohio primary to see which candidate lays the next egg.

- On Feb. 16, a flash of red signaled the start of another progressive party. This time it arrived in the form of a big red double-decker bus carrying 65 ebullient Scots. The bus pulled up at Fionn MacCool's at Jacksonville Beach, the first stop on the Beaches Pub Crawl, a precursor to the Jacksonville Scottish Highland Games. The organization's treasurer, E.J. Taylor of Jacksonville Beach, and pub crawl host Audie Gibson were on hand to greet the - in some cases - kilt-clad partiers, who boarded the bus at Seven Bridges Grill & Brewery. Some wore their clan's plaid, and all carried mugs that said, "I survived the PUB Crawl." MacCool's General Manager Paul Glaser and his staff readily filled those mugs with the brews of choice.

Score it as a dubious block

We all work hard and then, with one trade, the balance goes boom."), but he, like everyone else, is waiting to see what happens with the glacial O'Neal and the high-octane Suns. "They're not going to change the system and all of a sudden be rock 'em, sock 'em basketball," Popovich said. "They're going to figure out a way to slide Shaq in there just like they slid Kurt Thomas in there. It makes it tough for us in the sense that they have someone who can guard Timmy better."

Eastern play still pretty beastly

Remember all the preseason talk about how the Eastern Conference had narrowed the talent gap with the West? Oh well. At the All-Star break, the 23-30 New Jersey Nets would be the seventh seed in the East while the 32-20 Denver Nuggets would not make the playoffs in the West.
