Funny, the emphasis on this photo is on Hillary and Obama, but I wouldn't be surprised if the source was really some dirty tricksters of right-wing nutcases in the Republican parts trying to divide the Democrats, and if so it sounds like they've been successful. Too many dirty tricks - I am weary of it, like many of us in the public who are just looking for good leadership and resolution of the problems that we face. That is why Senator Obama's message resonates so much with us. As I've followed the campaigns, I see him behaving the most honorably and graciously of all. He is a Christian who quotes the most Christian of all principles, which is to be your brothers/sister's keeper (essentially to care for each other) and his message of hope is so important in our world today. I'm also glad he has some Muslim roots because I think that will give him an edge in majority Islamic countries where he will be listened to and respected more because of that.

Colombian President Alvaro Uribe's defense of his actions came during a three-hour session with news media representatives Wednesday night but his office did not authorize release of his comments until Thursday.The conservative leader expressed frustration at what he called inaction by Ecuador's leftist government over Colombian guerrilla camps in its territory."What does one do when bandits are shooting from the other side and the government doesn't do anything?" Uribe asked. "It's my job to defend 43 million Colombians."Ecuadorean President Rafael Correa has said his troops have raided dozens of rebel camps, but Colombian officials say the guerrillas are always tipped off so they can escape. Uribe said he didn't notify Correa of Saturday's attack because "I was sure that the operation would have failed."Uribe said the raid was the sixth since his 2002 election that was aimed at Raul Reyes, a top leader in the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, or FARC.
Protest of huge IT services contract upheld
Bjorklund added that the decision also could put Alliant Small Business at risk if the same selection process were used. Alliant is a $50 billion, 10-year governmentwide acquisition contract that federal agencies were supposed to begin using in 2007 to buy an array of IT services. Sixty-two companies submitted bids and 29 were selected as service providers on July 31. Following the contract award, eight companies filed protests arguing that the process used to evaluate them was arbitrary and contrary to the law. The protests were then combined under the protest filed by Serco Inc. in federal claims court. According to the ruling, GSA assigned adjectival (verbal) ratings to each bidder on the basis of numerous technical factors and then converted those descriptive evaluations into whole numbers (3, 4, 5 etc.) that were used to calculate a technical score for each bidder.
